🌟 What to Expect

🚤 Boat Trip to the Sunken City of Kekova

After arriving at the port, you'll embark on a two-hour yacht cruise along Kekova Island.

During the cruise, you'll see the remains of an ancient city that sank after a powerful earthquake many centuries ago. The clear waters reveal the foundations of houses, staircases, walls, ancient structures, and the ancient harbor.

There's also a stop for swimming in one of the picturesque bays with crystal-clear water.

🍽 Lunch

After the boat trip, guests will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

🏛 The Ancient City of Myra

The next stop is the ancient city of Myra, one of the largest cities in the Lycian Union.

You'll see:

the famous Lycian rock tombs;

the majestic Greco-Roman theater;

monuments of an ancient civilization dating back over two thousand years.

Lycian Tombs

Carved directly into sheer cliffs, these unique burial sites date back to the 4th century BC. The Lycians believed that the higher the tomb, the closer the soul to heaven.

Greco-Roman Theater

The Myra Amphitheater is considered one of the largest ancient theaters in Turkey and could accommodate approximately 10,000 spectators. It is perfectly preserved and still impresses with its scale.

⛪ Church of St. Nicholas

The tour continues with a visit to the world-famous Church of St. Nicholas in Demre. It was here in the 4th century that Bishop Nicholas of Myra served, known today throughout the world as Saint Nicholas—the prototype of modern-day Santa Claus.

The church is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Orthodox Christians.

Visiting the church is optional. Entrance fees apply.

💎 Icon and Souvenir Center

The tour includes a stop at a specialized center displaying Orthodox icons, local handicrafts, and souvenirs.

📖 Why Myra and not Limyra?

Some tours offer a visit to Limyra, but it is a completely different ancient city.

✅ Myra

is located near Demre (about 5 minutes);

Turkey's most beautiful Lycian rock tombs;

a huge theater for 10,000 spectators;

a World Heritage Site of ancient Lycia.

Limyra

is located much further away, in the Finike district;

a small theater with approximately 400 seats;

Less impressive archaeological sites.

That's why our tour includes a visit to the real Myra, not its lesser-known alternative.
