OLYMPUS is a mysterious ancient city that hides many secrets and stories... In the distant 1st century BC, this Lycian city "became famous" for its patronage of sea pirates, who controlled the coast of Eastern Lycia and Pamphylia for 25 years, for which they were excluded from the Lycian League and were banned from minting their own coins. But why would they mint anything if they could freely rob? However, this could not continue for long on the territory that already belonged to Rome, and in 78 BC, the Roman Senate sent an army to this region to fight the pirates... Now Olympos is a place for active recreation and hangouts for modern youth. And it's all for a reason. Firstly, Olympos is located in a small gorge, secondly, a mountain river flows through the city, dividing it into two parts, thirdly, there is access to the sea and a beautiful beach and most importantly - all this is among the ruins of ancient Olympos ... During the excursion we will visit all the most interesting and significant places of Olympos, you will learn about the fate of the pirates of this region, why the city was renamed Adrianopolis, how it lived during the Byzantine era and how the British discovered it in the 19th century ...
