Termessos is a legendary city, one of the few ancient cities in Asia Minor that offered fierce resistance during Alexander the Great's conquest in 333 BC, and the only city never conquered by Alexander's army. Only a powerful earthquake in the 3rd century "conquered" it—since then, the ruins of the ancient city have remained untouched, scattered at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level. Today, Termessos is a great destination for lovers of active mountain walks, beautiful views, and ancient history. The city was medium-sized, but the presence of a theater for 5,000 spectators, an agora, temples, a parliament, a colonnaded street, a sewer system, and two large necropolises speaks to the status of Termessos in ancient times. On our tour, we will visit all the most significant sites of the city, as well as explore the tomb of one of Alexander the Great's generals, the royal rock tombs, and climb to the highest point of Termessos with a panoramic view of the mountains.
